KC Weekly: Hall of Faith

Hebrews 11 says this about faith: “Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see…And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.” Hebrews 11:1,6

The rest of Hebrews 11 is called the Hall of Faith (like a Hall of Fame) and celebrates different people from the Old Testament who showed faith in God. Let’s read this whole chapter out loud together:

Note: this might seem really long but if your kids are a bit older, we’d encourage you to give it a shot. There’s something unique about reading the Bible out loud together. And if you have some advanced readers, let them share some of the reading load. If your kids are younger, you could watch this instead:

Let’s think about our family: If someone was writing about us, what might they say? How have we followed God in faith? What would we want someone to say about us in the future? What are some of the ways God has been writing our family’s story?

One Step Further: Try adding your family’s story into Hebrews 11. Type or write out: By faith, the __________ family………… add in what God has done and what you want to see God do. End your time by thanking God for how he has been active in your family so far and asking God to do those things you want him to do in the future.
