Trying to decide which Bible to get? We’ve got you covered! Below you’ll find our favorite ones.
The best Bible is the one you actually read, so whether you pick one of these or find another one you like, here’s a Bible reading plan to get you started.
Ages 2-5
We LOVE The Jesus Storybook Bible. It has colorful illustrations and beautiful but simple language. And while it’s designed for really little kids, we find many adults are moved when they read it, too.
Ages 6-10
For early elementary readers, we recommend The Adventure Bible for Early Readers. A simpler form of the NIrV (New International Readers Version), this Bible is great for kids who are just learning to read. It’s also a good resource for parents who want to explain things in kid-friendly language.
Ages 8-12
For kids in upper elementary and middle school, The NIV Adventure Bible is a win-win. It includes articles and call-outs to encourage kids’ curiosity about the Bible, and it has ideas for activities parents can lead to help make the stories come alive.
The Bible has never felt more action-packed than in The Action Bible. This is a great option for a kid who might believe the Bible is boring — which of course it’s not!
Ages 12-18
Live: Holy Bible is the version of the Bible recommended by Crossroads Student Ministry. It helps teens to focus on how the Bible applies to them, complete with art, photos, and other content made by teenagers themselves!
