KC Weekly: God is the boss

January 20, 2020

Today, let’s talk about how God is in charge. He’s the boss! And if God tells us to do something, it’s best for us to trust Him, and obey.

Video or song?

Let your kid decide whether they want to watch a video about God’s commandments, or to learn a song called “Boss of Me.” Whichever they pick, watch it together and talk about what it means to let God be in charge this week.

Some questions to talk about…

  • When was the last time YOU got to be in charge? How does it feel to tell people to do something and see them listen to you? How does it feel when they don’t?
  • One of God’s commandments is, “Do not lie.” Is that easy or hard to obey and tell the truth? Why?
  • What’s one way you can help each other remember to let God be the boss? Maybe it’s a code word or phrase. Or maybe it’s a fun dance move or hand signal. Whatever it is, make sure it’s easy to remember and fun to do!

Parents, want more tips?
