Today, let’s talk about how God wants us to be “humble.” We have “humility” when we think less about ourselves and about God and other people more!
When we play, when we’re with our family or friends, whether we win or lose — Jesus reminds us that we should put God and other people above ourselves. He did that for us when he lived on earth, and died and came back to life to rescue us. He could have tried to save Himself, but instead, he put God and other people first.

What could it look like to be “humble?”
Here are some questions to get you and your family talking about ways to be humble this week:
- Is there anything you could share with a person this week? It could be a favorite toy, or even your attention and your time. Will that be easy or hard to do? Why?
- Is God maybe telling you to do something, and you need to put God first? Maybe God’s reminding you to ask someone for forgiveness, or to forgive someone else. How can you obey God?
- What is one plan you had this week that God might want you to change? Is there someone you could invite to hang out? Or do you need to set aside time to pray or read the Bible?
- Can you think of a time when you saw your kid (or when your kid saw you) choose to be humble? Retell the story and point out what was humble about them.
