This weekend, kindergarten through fifth graders heard about Esther, while preschoolers heard about Josiah. Ask them to tell you their favorite part of the story.

The story of Esther is pretty incredible. We recommend reading the whole thing out loud from the Bible this week (she’s got her own book!). You can also check out this four-minute version.

See if kids can remember Micah 6:8. To help, try making up hand motions to do while you read it out loud.

Every weekend, kids hear about somebody who got to be part of God’s story in the Bible. Kindergarten through second graders saw this music video about how God’s story is still going on, and how God wants US to be part of it too! After you watch it, consider one way you can be part of his story today.

Being part of a story is fun…and so is making one up! As a family, create a story one sentence at a time. Have one person start, and take turns adding a sentence. If you don’t how to begin, try something like, “Once upon a time, there was a bird who had fur instead of feathers.” Anything goes!
