June 4-5

During June, kindergarteners through fifth graders are using the theme of teamwork to talk about the early church (Acts 2:42-47). Preschoolers are kicking off the summer by hearing the very beginning of God’s story (Genesis 1). Ask your kids to tell you about it.

The Church isn’t a building; it’s people. Ask your kids how WE can be the church. Here are some kids who can help explain it:

This month, we’re learning 1 Corinthians 9:24-25, “Don’t you realize that in a race everyone runs, but only one person gets the prize? So run to win! All athletes are disciplined in their training. They do it to win a prize that will fade away, but we do it for an eternal prize.”
Following Jesus is like running to win. How can we follow Jesus with our whole hearts this week?

A guy named Peter was the first person in the early church (Matthew 16:18). How did he and the others around him follow Jesus?

It’s fun to follow Jesus as a team! Who are some of your teammates? Try following Jesus together this week. Maybe you could pray for a friend, or visit somebody who’s lonely.
