How did God show the Israelites in the wilderness that he wanted to be close to them? How does he show that he wants to be close to his family now?

God is close to us, so we can talk to him and listen to him anytime. That’s called praying. As a family, talk to God. Tell him one thing you love about him (that’s called worship). Then practice listening to him, using the video below.

There are lots of ways to worship God. One way is to sing to him! Watch the music video below, and thank him for wanting to have a relationship with us.
Summer Family Challenge: Create a reminder that God is with you, just like he was with the Israelites. Walk out to a park, yard or street and find something God made that you think is beautiful. (Maybe it’s a leaf, flower or cool-looking rock.) Bring it inside, and set it in a place you’ll see every day. When you see it, thank God for his love.
