When Jesus was born, shepherds weren’t thought of as important people. They had a job that was hard and dirty, they were probably stinky and almost no one wanted to spend time with them. But when His son was born on earth, Luke 2:8-14 tells us that God sent a whole crowd of angels to tell the shepherds before anyone else. You can watch this video about it:
