Preschoolers heard about prayer (and a guy named John, who loved to pray) while kindergarten through fifth graders heard about a guy named Timothy. Even though Timothy was young, he set an example for others. Ask them to tell you what they can remember about the stories they heard in Kids’ Club.

Watch this video about John, or read about him in the books of John and Revelation. Ask kids: what is prayer? How was prayer important in John’s life?

Watch this video about Timothy, or read about him in the books of 1 and 2 Timothy. Ask kids: How did Timothy learn about Jesus? How can we keep learning about Jesus?

As we talk about a few people who acted like Jesus (like John and Timothy), we’re learning one way that we can act like him too. It’s in Ephesians 4:29 and it says, “Don’t use foul or abusive language. Let everything you say be good and helpful, so that your words will be an encouragement to those who hear them.”
